The Practice

The light, the grades, the views worth keeping, the architecture the water must answer to — that is the brief, and it cannot be taken over the phone.

From the walk comes one concept, composed for your residence alone. We design complete outdoor programs — pool, spa, kitchen, fire, shade, and landscape as a single composition — and we have never designed the same concept twice.

You will see the water before it exists. Every design is modeled in three dimensions and presented in motion: the way light crosses the vessel at evening, the way the edge meets the view. You approve what you will actually live with, not an artist's impression.

Design is where the engineering begins. Hydraulics, structure, and edge tolerances enter the drawings early — where changes cost conversation, not concrete. A design fee applies and is credited toward your construction agreement.

A design company's drawings interpreted by a build company's crew. We removed the handoff. The studio that designs your water engineers it, and the studio that engineers it stands in the excavation.

The difference shows in millimeters. A knife-edge that reads as a single plane. An overflow slot that is silent. A surface that holds still in wind. These are decisions made on paper and protected through construction, because the same people are accountable for both.

Difficult sites are where our best work lives. We have hung a spa off Camelback Mountain on steel beams and supplied it by bucket up forty stairs, because the view demanded that spot and no other. Hillside cut-and-fill, retaining structures, engineered soils — coordinated as part of the commission, never as a mid-construction surprise.

You will have one point of contact from excavation to first swim. Many clients never visit the site at all; their architect or estate manager receives the updates, and the water is simply ready.

Every drawing we produce has been tested by our own crews on our own commissions — which is why architects, custom builders, and pool firms across the country bring us the water they cannot afford to get wrong.

Hydraulics. The discipline that separates a luxury pool from a remarkable one. Edge flow rates, surge capacity, pipe sizing, acoustic behavior of moving water — engineered so the vanishing edge vanishes and the overflow is silent.

Plans. Permit-ready construction documents: structural coordination, equipment schematics, detail sheets a crew can actually build from. The drawings answer questions before the field asks them.

We take consulting engagements nationally and price them by scope, not by the hour.

Surge tanks, edge flows, autofill calibration, the chemistry that protects a glass-tile waterline through a Sonoran summer — most service routes have never seen these systems. We build them.

Concierge service means the studio that engineers architectural water keeps it perfect. Scheduled visits by technicians trained on the vessels we build. Chemistry, finishes, and equipment checked against the standard the commission was built to — and reported, so the house always knows the state of its water.

Discretion is the default. Many of our service relationships run entirely through the estate manager: gate codes honored, visits logged, issues resolved before the owner would have noticed them.

We service a limited number of residences, with priority to watershapes we built.
